Epaviten

Epaviten is a combination vitamin supplement for replenishing essential B vitamins and vitamin C. It is used to support metabolic processes, hematopoiesis, nervous system function, and overall health.

Composition

Vial I (red):

• Cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12) — 2.5 mg
• Folic acid (vitamin B9) — 0.70 mg
• Nicotinamide (vitamin PP, B3) — 12 mg

Vial II (colorless):

• Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) — 150 mg

Before administration, the contents of both vials are withdrawn into a single syringe.

Pharmacological action

Epaviten replenishes vitamin deficiencies involved in hematopoiesis, DNA synthesis, energy metabolism, and nervous system function.

Indications for use

• vitamin B12 deficiency;
• folic acid deficiency;

Dosage and administration

This medication is used only as prescribed by a physician.

• adults — on average 2-3 doses per week;
• according to medical indications, a physician may prescribe 1-2 doses per day;
• administered intramuscularly, intravenously, or by slow venous infusion;
• for infusion, the medication is diluted in 250-500 ml of saline or glucose solution.

Contraindications

• hypersensitivity to any component of the medication;
• Individual intolerance to vitamins B12, B9, PP, or vitamin C.

Side effects

Hypersensitivity reactions are possible, including:

• weakness, fever;
• decreased blood pressure;
• rapid breathing;
• skin rash, itching;
• in rare cases, anaphylactic shock.

Redness, swelling, and soreness at the injection site are possible.
